Sudan rejects interference in distribution of its oil revenues
Sudan, Politics, 5/31/2002
The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael on Thursday refused any international interference regarding the distribution of the Sudan's national income from oil revenues.
He accused the US of obstructing the situation in Sudan. Ismael told the Tunisian French daily "Le Occtidian De Tunis" on the sideline of a work visit he made to Tunisia "we will absolutely not accept the formation of an international committee to run the distribution of our oil revenues. We are able to assume that by ourselves."
The Sudanese foreign minister stressed that Khartoum is committed to "seek to establish a just peace which is able to preserve Sudan's unity."
