Scottish oil and gas operators in Morocco
Morocco-UK, Economics, 5/30/2002

A Scottish commercial delegation, including oil and gas industry operators, started Wednesday a five-day mission to explore the Moroccan market.

The mission is sponsored by the Scottish Development International, a governmental body in charge of external exchanges promotion.

Nine companies operating in oil and gas drilling, off-shore platform making, detection systems, equipment and petro-chemistry are represented in the mission.

The visit is part of efforts to develop exchanges with Morocco, a country where the oil and gas industry is promised to a bright future, said Abdelhadi Fawzy, who heads delegation.

"We are aware of the excellent changes that the oil sector witnesses in Morocco," he said, adding that his mission is the second of the kind in Morocco.

During their stay, the Scottish operators will meet officials from ONAREP, Morocco's oil authority.
