Russia renews rejection to striking Iraq
Iraq-Russia, Politics, 5/30/2002
The Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov has renewed his country's rejection to any possible American strike against Iraq.
In a statement to the Lebanese daily al-Deyar issued on Wednesday, Ivanov said that Russia will exert all efforts in order to prevent the occurrence of an American strike to Iraq. He explained that the new formula for the Russian relations with the NATO does not permit Russia to veto a decision on striking Iraq.
