On the American and Israeli pressures against Syria

The Lebanese daily Assafir said Tuesday issue quoting sources close to Syria that Syria had set two preconditions during the Sharm esh Sheikh summit -- attended by Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Syria -- in order to achieve the deal of the international conference Washington seeks to market through Saudi Arabia. The first condition on the need that this conference is based on implementing international resolutions and the second is Israel's withdrawal from all Palestinian cities and villages occupied by it for halting the Palestinian operations.

In a report the paper published by Naseer al-Asaad, the paper said quoting the same sources that Saudi Arabia did not succeed in marketing the second precondition and Washington saw the deal will be launched without Syria and therefore it (Washington) started to issue warnings and pressure against it including the 8 preconditions set by Sharon for Syria to join the proposed new international new conference.

The sources expected Israel to direct strikes against Lebanon, targeting Hizbullah militarily and at the security level and this is in order to remove the card of resistance from Syria's hand and to dismember Lebanon from Syria and from the region and to create an-inter Lebanese controversy, noting that the pressure will be increased during the two coming months.
