King Mohammed condoles ex-French foreign minister's family
Morocco-France, Local, 5/28/2002
Following the demise of ex-French foreign minister Michel Jobert, Morocco's King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences to the family of the deceased politician. The king lauded the qualities of Jobert, a brave and determined statesman who fought for freedom and justice. Born in the Moroccan city of Meknes, Jobert was a lawyer and author who served as France's foreign minister under the late President Georges Pompidou in the mid-1970s. He died early Sunday at the age of 80.
Jobert died of a cerebral haemorrhage after being admitted to the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris late Saturday.
