Moroccan health minister in Iraq

Moroccan health minister, Thami El Khyari, arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for a three-day work visit.

During his visit, the Moroccan official will meet Iraqi peer Oumid Medhat Mubarak and other Iraqi officials on issues pertaining to health and medicine.

El Khyari will dedicate Moroccan medical days in Baghdad with the participation of Moroccan laboratories and pharmaceutical companies.

El Khyari told the press upon arrival that he will discuss with his Iraqi peer means to upgrade cooperation in health matters.

For his part, Medhat Moubarak said his country is keen on developing ties with Morocco.

The medical days' program features a lecture on the adverse efforts of the sanctions on the Iraqi health sector, an expose on Morocco's pharmaceutical industry, visits to the Saddam center of heart surgery and the Saddam Center of liver and digestive diseases.
