King Mohammed's visit to Jordan to consolidate ties, Jordanian fm
Jordan-Morocco, Politics, 5/28/2002

The official visit King Mohammed VI will start this Monday to Jordan will help consolidate ties between Rabat and Amman, Jordanian foreign minister, Marwane Al-Moasher said.

Ties between Morocco and Jordan have always been "solid and excellent," Al-Moasher told MAP news agency, adding that the two Arab states share the same views on regional and international issues of common concern, especially on the Palestinian cause.

The Jordanian official underlined that his country also shares the same view with Morocco regarding the projected international conference on peace in the Middle East. He noted, in this connection, that the conference should debate a well-prepared agenda and should take the Arab peace initiative as one of its major references.

The Arab peace initiative, floated by Saudi Crown Prince Abdallah Ibn Abdel Aziz and adopted by the latest Arab summit held end of last March in Beirut, offers Israel normal relations with the Arab states in exchange of a withdrawal to the pre-1967 borders.
