Some 400,000 Israeli mines implanted in south Lebanon

The speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri discussed with the personal representative of the UN secretary general Steven De Mistora on Monday the Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty.
De Mistora disclosed after the meeting that he handed over Berri an important map on the Israeli land mines implanted on the Lebanese territories, noting that number of these land mines exceeds 400,000.
He stressed the importance of dismantling the mines in south lebanon. An operation in which 27 countries are taking part.
Mistora stressed the UN will help the people of south Lebanon to reclaim their lands and convert them into arable areas, noting that some 200 land mines are dismantled every day.
