Egyptian- French summit next week

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak will start a work visit to the USA on June 5th.

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher said that this visit is of great significance as it comes at a very important time when the Israeli aggressions continue against the Palestinian people, noting that the Palestinian question is the main issue and the key subject for President Mubarak's talks in Washington.

Well-informed Egyptian sources in Cairo said that on his way to Washington, an Egyptian- French summit will be held between President Mubarak and the French President Jacque Chirac in Paris. It is the first summit between the two Presidents meet after Chirac won the French presidency for the second time.

The Egyptian president is seeking to get French support concerning the Egyptian position concerning the developments of conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
