World celebrations marking centennial anniversary of Egyptian museum
Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni said that the ministry would hold world celebrations on December 9 marking the centennial anniversary of establishing the Egyptian museum in Cairo.

A dream comes true: Visitors able to tour magnificent temples of New Kalabsha Island
Visitors will soon be able to tour the magnificent temples of the New Kalabsha Island, 56 kilometres south of Aswan. The temples -- Kalabsha, Beit Al- Wali, Gerf Hussein and the Kiosk of Kartassi -- have been restored, and the area surrounding them revamped and provided with tourist facilities. The temples were originally transported to the present site courtesy of the German Federal Republic within the framework of a UNESCO-sponsored salvage operation in the 1960s.

Sharon approved bringing in Thai labor force to Israel
The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has decided to permit bringing in some 8,000 workers from Thailand to work in the Arab agricultural sector which was greatly affected by the Palestinian Intifada.
