Moscow stands against striking Iraq

The Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov announced his country's rejection to striking Iraq. He said that Russia is exerting all its efforts in order to prevent striking Iraq.
In a statement he made on Thursday evening in Moscow, he added that Russia does not support the US position concerning the Iraqi issue. He also described the Iranian issue as one of the obstacle in the Russian- American relations. He stressed that Washington's criticism to the Russian cooperation in the area of peaceful use of atomic energy as unjustified.
