One billion dollars, the volume of trade between Syria, Turkey

The chairman of the chamber of industry in the Turkish province of Ghazi Intab Najat Kodjer has stated that Turkey's trade relations with each of Syria and Iraq are of great importance to the economic progress in the southern east Anadola area.
In a statement he made on Wednesday, the Turkish officials said that the volume of trade exchange between Syria and Turkey reached more than USD one billion, noting that Turkey has to follow up the industrial movement in Syria and evaluate opportunities for making use of them.
He indicated that there is an important market in Syria for the textile machinery made in Ghazi Intab, adding that the development of bilateral relations between the two countries at the governmental level is very important for Turkey.
On Turkish trade relations with Iraq, the Turkish official said that the Gulf crisis and the sanctions imposed on Iraq caused loses to Turkey estimated at USD 100 billion, besides that the sanctions on Iraq has adverse effects in the social life in the region.
On the other hand, the chairman of Ghazi Intab chamber of commerce Muhammad Aslan said that the visit to be held by a delegation including administrators and businessmen from the Aleppo's chamber of commerce to Ghazi Intab province today will accelerate trade relations between Syrian and Turkish businessmen.
