Arab investments club set up in Morocco
Morocco-Regional, Economics, 5/23/2002
A club of Arab investments was set up Wednesday in Casablanca to serve as a frame of contact and cooperation between Moroccan and Arab investors.
The club is meant to give a strong impetus to Arab investments in Morocco and will be a suitable frame for dialogue on issues of concern to Arab and Moroccan economic operators, Moroccan economy, finance, privatization and tourism minister, Fathallah Oualalou told the press on Wednesday.
Arab gulf states can play the role of gateway for Moroccan products to Asian Markets, in the same way as Morocco can be the platform for these nations' products to Europe and America, especially after the creation of a free trade zone between Morocco and the USA, he said.
Oualalou called for more inter-Arab cooperation to face up the challenges of globalization and defend Arab interests.
