Canada's FM to head for the ME
Palestine-Canada, Politics, 5/23/2002

It was announced in Ottawa on Wednesday that the Canadian foreign minister Bill Graham will head for the Middle East this week in order to urge the Palestinians and the Israelis to return back to the table of negotiations.

In a statement to the press just hours before he headed for the Middle East, Graham said he will support the American efforts to solve the conflict in the Middle East during his tour in the region which will last for one week.

Graham continued that he will convey a message to the Palestinians and the Israelis calling for returning back to peace negotiations, giving up violence and urging the Israelis to honor international legitimacy resolutions and pulling out their forces from the Palestinian territories and stop building settlements.

Graham is scheduled to visit Jordan on May 22- 24 and Egypt on the 25th.
