Sudan- Turkish cooperation
Sudan-Turkey, Economics, 5/23/2002
The Turkish minister of state Ramadan Meirza Oglo discussed during his meeting on Wednesday in Ankara with the Sudanese minister of transport Muhammad Hassan al-Bahi financial and technical issues relating to the establishment of a sugar factory in Sudan by Turkish factories. This factory is planned to produce 300,000 tons of process sugar annually.
The Turkish minister said that this project will be a corner stone in bilateral relations.
For his part, the Sudanese minister said that his visit aims at developing cooperation in the area of sugar production, saying that Sudan can open the doors of East Africa for Turkey, noting that conducting joint venture of several key projects would contribute to developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
