Morocco, Syria sign agreement on housing
Syria-Morocco, Economics, 5/22/2002

A cooperation agreement in the field of housing was signed in Damascus Monday by Moroccan minister of territory planning, housing and environment, Mohamed El Yazghi, and Syrian housing minister, Adham Wanili.

The agreement provides for the exchange of technical expertise in construction of low-cost housing, regional planning, construction legislation and training.

The Moroccan official underscored the role of the private sector in strengthening cooperation relations among the Arab states, so as to face up the challenges of globalization.

The Moroccan governmental council approved this month six agreements signed with Syria in the fields of employment, social development, environment protection, cinema exchanges, mutual recognition of driving licenses, investment promotion and protection, territory planning and urbanism.
