Al-Assad discusses with UNDP chief bilateral issues

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Monday in Damascus received the director of the UNDP Marc Brown and members of the accompanying delegation, which includes Mrs Rima Khalaf Hneidi, the assistant secretary general and the director of the regional office for the Arab states at the UNDP, UNDP resident representative in Damascus Towfiq Bin Amara and other officials concerned.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with areas of cooperation between Syria and the UNDP in developmental fields. Al-Assad also met with the chairman of the Kuwaiti national committee for the missing and prisoners affairs Sheikh Salem al- Sabah and members of the accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by Kuwait's ambassador in Damascus.

Discussions dealt with bilateral relations and Syria's efforts in the field of fostering inter- Arab solidarity.
