Moroccan Socialist Party delegation visits Damascus

Vice-secretary general of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP, who its leader, Abderrahmane Youssoufi is the prime minister of Morocco), who is also minister of territory planning, housing and environment, Mohammed El Yazghi, is currently visiting Syria, at the head of a USFP delegation, at the invitation of the ruling Baath party leader.

Talks between the two parties' leaders will cover Arab issues and fostering ties between the two states, El Yazghi said.

We will also discuss other issues of crucial importance to the Arab states such as "the right to perfect territorial integrity, the struggle against occupation, and means to improve the brotherly ties between the two political parties," the minister added.

El Yazghi will also be attending in Damascus the executive council of the Arab environment ministers.

The Moroccan delegation will meet several Syrian officials, including vice-president Abdul Halim Khaddam.
