A new conference for reconciliation in Somalia

Kenya's foreign minister has announced the formation of a new political committee to prepare for the Somali reconciliation conference which will be held in June in the capital Nairobi.

Marisdom Madoka said that Kenya's former foreign minister Aleija Mounqa'I will chair the committee. Modaka added that the committee includes officials from Ethiopia, Djibouti and the government's commission for Development in East Africa IGAD.

He continued that the delay to convene this conference which was due in April aimed at good preparations so as the conference will attain its objectives to restoring stability and peace into Somalia.
