The Moroccan Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the French Society of Military Medicine are holding in Rabat this May 16-18 a conference on military medicine.
The scientific event is co-chaired by Major General, doctor Moulay Driss Archane, and French general doctor inspector, Professor J.P Daly, also director of application school of the army health service (EASSA).
Archane assessed the Moroccan-French collaboration in the field of military healthcare, and the interventions of the Moroccan Military health services in different parts of the world. He said Moroccan soldiers have taken part in several operations abroad, mainly in Congo in 1960, in Sinai and the Golan in 1973, in Zaire in 1977 and 1978, in Somalia in 1992 and 1994, in Bosnia in 1996, in Kosovo in 1999, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2001. The FAR health services also helped evacuate in 2000 injured Palestinians into the military hospital of Rabat.
Daly underscored the importance of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of healthcare.
