Saadat holds Arafat responsible for his detention
Palestine, Politics, 5/18/2002

The secretary general of the People's Front For the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Saadat has held the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat responsible for his detention. He expected that Arafat will not release him even the Palestinian supreme court decides so.

In a telephone interview with the London- based al-Hayat daily on Friday, Saadat criticized the Church of Nativity agreement, noting that the US seeks to cultivate the fruits of the Israeli aggression politically and that contradictions between the US and Israel are just formal.

Saadat also criticized the Arab peace initiative because it has unanimously approved "historical reconciliation with Israel. A matter which means a prize for the aggression mounted by Sharon against the Palestinians."
