Egypt, Ukraine to build a joint satellite

The Egyptian deputy foreign minister Muhammad Shaaban has stressed that Egypt and Ukraine agreed to install a joint satellite in order to search for mineral resources.

During his meeting with journalists in Kiev on Friday, Shaaban said that the Egyptian side will finance the project and has received the necessary technical information from the Ukraine National Space Agency in order to transfer it to Egyptian experts.

Shaaban continued he had discussed with the Ukraine side prospects of joint cooperation in various trade, agriculture, military, technical and cultural fields especially as his country is concerned with promoting relations with Ukraine in various fields especially in the commercial area.

Trade exchange value between the two countries totaled USD 200 million.

Meantime, a round of consultation was held between the Egyptian and Ukraine sides at the premises of the Ukraine's foreign ministry on Friday.
