Arab industrial strategy and action plan; total budget is 7 million

Arab industry ministers set up on Wednesday a ministerial commission gathering Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan and Jordan to examine the Arab Mining and Industrial Development Organization's plan of action.
The commission set up at the end of the Organization's ministerial council 17th session will be meeting in Cairo in the coming three months to write a report on the situation of industry and energy in the Arab world. Conclusions of the report will be submitted to the upcoming Arab summit.
Morocco who was represented by minister of trade, industry, energy and mining, Mustapha Mansouri, was also appointed to the body in charge of the organization's financial and administrative control together with Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Egypt and as member of the executive council.
The session looked into a project to set up an Arab fund to support and promote industrial technologies and back research centers. The organization's budget was raised to US$ 7 million while Saudi Talaat Dhafer's term as general director of the Organization was renewed and Morocco's Ali Loulidi was reappointed as assistant- general director.
