Invitated by Miro, Sudan's vice president arrives in Damascus tomorrow

At the invitation of the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro, Sudan's vice President Ali Othman Muhammad Taha will arrived in Damascus tomorrow in a visit to Syria during which he will preside over the Sudanese side to the meetings of the joint Sudanese - Syrian higher committee which will be held in Damascus.
Tahal will hold talks with the Syrian officials aiming at enhancing the relations between the two states in various fields as well as developments in the region.
The Sudanese vice president will be accompanied by an economic delegation.
The agenda of the higher committee meeting will include in addition to reviewing trade, economic and investment relations between the two states means of developing these relations, appropriate means to revitalize signed agreements, include signing several projects especially memorandum of understanding between the ministry of the economy in Syria and the Sudanese foreign trade ministry; between the two states' al-Awqaf ministries; a memorandum of understanding between the investment bureau in Syria and the investment office in Sudan; among other agreements.
The agenda also includes signing several agreements to cooperate in the fields of social affairs and labor and cooperation for the years 2002- 2003 as well as a draft agreement in the areas of electricity grid, oil and administrative reforms.
