Palestine, Politics, 5/17/2002
The chairman of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Yasser Arafat has appointed Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the PA, as member in the committee for rebuilding Jenin camp for the Palestinian refugees.
Palestinian sources said that al-Ahmad will start its works in preparing the project to rebuild quarters and houses demolished by the Israeli occupation forces during breaking into the Jenin camp.
The Israeli Hebrew language radio said that this step falls in the course of what it called reforms Arafat wants to implement in the structure of the PA, its work method. The radio said that the Palestinian legislative council on Tuesday approved a draft decision proposed by Arafat stated to ensure complete independence to the Palestinian judiciary.
