Quebec Says Sahara Issue is a Moroccan-Algerian Problem
Morocco-Canada, Politics, 5/16/2002
Quebec on Wednesday said the Sahara issue is a problem between Morocco and Algeria, who should work together to reach a peaceful solution.
Morocco and Algeria have to find together a peaceful solution to the Sahara issue, said Quebec's vice-premier and state minister of economy and finance, Ms. Pauline Marois.
"We think the two countries can reach this peaceful solution," she said, adding her country "cannot side with either of the two countries."
Marois arrived Monday in Morocco for a four-day visit. She is accompanied by a delegation including businessmen operating mainly in information technologies, environment and infrastructures.
