Morocco has always endeavored to find a political and peaceful solution to the question of Moroccan Sahara, King Mohammed VI said on Tuesday.

"Morocco, which has chosen as a strategic option to build the Arab Maghreb Union on sound foundations and to play its role as an efficient partner of the European Union, has always endeavored to find a political and peaceful solution to the question of Moroccan Sahara, within a democratic framework which upholds the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the kingdom. Hence its support for the framework-agreement proposed by the International Organization," said King Mohammed VI in an official dinner hosted in honor of Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, who started Tuesday an official visit to Morocco.

The king said Morocco "is hoping for the international community to give a strong impetus to the effort being made by the Personal Representative of the United Nations secretary general in favor of peace, stability, development and Maghrebian integration."
