Egyptian- Sudanese economic integration
Sudan-Egypt, Economics, 5/16/2002
Sudanese minister of energy and mining Awad al-Jaz expressed his hope that the summit held yesterday between Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will be a strong impetus for the bilateral and integrated relations between Egypt and Sudan who have been linked to one common history.
In exclusive statements to the Egyptian paper al-Ahram, al-Jaz said economic integration and cooperation in the area of energy should be the main engine for these relations, so as to achieve mutual benefits.
He said he had extended an invitation to the Egyptian oil minister Sameh Fahimi to visit Sudan in order to draw basics of cooperation between the two states to this effect, noting that Sudan's doors are open before the Egyptian investments.
