Rasheed in Washington, delegated by Arafat

Muhammad Rasheed, the economic advisor for the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat arrived in Washington in order to hold talks with the director general of the Israeli foreign ministry Ave Jeil and others at the US State Department.
The Hebrew- language Israeli radio said that Yasser Arafat sent Rasheed urgently in order to hold talks concerning several issues, foremost being implementing Peres- Ahmad Grei' plan concerning reaching a solution between Israel and the Palestinian authority as well as on the Saudi peace initiative in the region and making fundamental reforms in the structure and work-plan and performance of the Palestinian authority during the coming phase.
The Israeli radio noted that the American side showed special interests in the talks of Rasheed- Jeil which will start within the few coming days.
