Saudi- British talks

A Saudi Arabian - British round of talks chaired by prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, the second deputy for the Saudi defense minister and minister of Aviation held a meeting on Tuesday evening in al-Riyadh with the British defense minister Jeffery Howe. Discussions dealt with developments of conditions on the Middle East arena and means of strengthening military cooperation between Riyadh and London.
During the meeting prince Sultan stressed the solid relations between the two countries. He said that British- Saudi friendship is very deeply rooted, noting but "this does not mean there are not differences in view points."
On the Saudi side the meeting was attended by the Saudi army deputy in chief Lt. Gen. Saleh al-Mahya and senior high ranking army officers and the delegation accompanying the British minister.
Earlier in the day, the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz met with the British minister who arrived in Jeddah in a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.
