Maroc telecom sells 20% of its share in Mauritel

Moroccan phone operator Group, Maroc Telecom, sold 20% of its share in Mauritania's Mauritel to Mauritanian Abdallahi Ould Noueigued (AON) private group, the weekly "Le Calame" said this week.
Maroc Telecom, which owned 54% of Mauritel's capital, sold the 20% of shared at US$ 16 million.
After the transaction, the Mauritanian state became Mauritel's main share holder with 46%.
Maroc Telecom had won in March 2001 the bid for Mauritel privatization, against Portugal Telecom.
