Regional-Argentina, Culture, 5/15/2002
The Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO/based in Rabat) decided to grant the Argentinean-Arab Cultural Institute a financial aid.
The decision was confirmed by ISESCO assistant director general, Mohammed Hashim Falouqi, at a meeting here Monday with the Institute executives.
During the meeting, the parties probed means to activate the role of the institute in coordination with the Latin-American Islamic Organizations.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 11th seminar of the presidents of Islamic centers and associations in Latin-America and the Caribbean held in the Argentinean capital May 10-12.
The Argentinean-Arab Cultural Institute was set up in 1962, part of an ISESCO project. It aims to encourage research in human sciences and culture, foster studies of the Arab Language as an instrument of dialogue and communication and preserve Argentina's culture and civilization heritage.
