Mediterranean intellectuals called to act against Israeli aggressions

The Group of Study and Research on the Mediterranean (GERM) called on Monday Mediterranean intellectuals for action to stop the Israeli aggressions against the defenseless Palestinian people.

"Peace-loving forces can not remain indifferent to Israel's barbarous actions in the occupied Palestinian territories," said the group in an appeal launched at the opening of a conference entitled "assessment of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership action in the context of the Middle East crisis."

The appeal warns that peace and security in the whole Middle East region are threatened by the bloody policy of Sharon (Israeli prime minister) and by Israel's failure to respect its previous commitments.
