UNDP hold regional meeting in Damascus
Regional-Syria, Politics, 5/15/2002

The regional meeting for the resident representatives of the UN Development Program (UNDP) will be held in Damascus at the Meridian hotel on May 20 through 22.

The participants in the meeting will discuss the UNDP role in supporting sustainable development in the Arab region and prospects of its work in the area of alleviating poverty, enhancing participation, protecting the environment and building the potentials through providing consultation and technical support for developmental policies in the Arab states.

The participants in the meeting will also discuss the current efforts to promote performance in the UNDP so as to ensure institutional and human potentials are able to provide support and supervise the implementation of joint programs, in a sustainable and effective way.
