Egyptian premier meets Qatari minister

Egyptian Premier Atef Ebeid met Monday morning with Qatari Minister of Industry and Oil Abdullah Ben Hamad A1 Attiyah currently visiting Cairo. Oil Minister Sameh Fahmi and Industry Minister Ali Al-Saeedi were present. The Qatari minister said that the meeting dealt with cooperation between Egypt and Qatar especially in energy domains.

He added that they discussed setting up a joint committee of the two states ministries of oil and industry to draw up a draft agreement to increase the number of the Europe-bound Gulf tankers through the Suez Canal to serve the interests of both states.

Fahmi said that the meeting dealt with means of local components of energy projects instead of importing them and joint cooperation in oil and gas projects.

Saeedi said that the meeting mainly dealt with industry and oil projects and joint efforts to increase local industrialization of components of oil ventures.
