First Libyan- French ministerial meeting in 10 years

Well-informed Libyan sources said that the French- Libyan committee will hold a meeting shortly in Tripoli under the chairmanship of the ministers of state for foreign affairs in the first step that perpetuates rescheduling of cooperation between the two governments since more than 10 years.

The sources explained that the committee will study strengthening cooperation in various sectors, especially in the trade and investment fields, in light of France's efforts to improve its position among Libya's main partners after France's partnership with Libya declined to the fifth rank.

It is noted that the French industrial and oil groups have identified their investments in Libya during the few past months and the French and the Libyans were able to attain a change in the bilateral relations when they reached an agreement by the end of February to resume direct air flights between the two countries.
