Two Palestinians killed, Hamas vows continued resistance
Palestine-Israel, Military, 5/14/2002

Two Palestinians were killed on Monday by the Israeli occupation army near Bethlehem and in the Jordan valley and the Israeli forces broke into Beit Fajjar to the south of Bethlehem and Doura near ramullah and al-Mawasi suburb near Rafah and arrested several Palestinians at a time when the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas vowed continued resistance.

In this regard, the Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aliazer noted the possiblity of the Israeli forces invading Gaza, adding that the invasion was suspended because it has been discussed openly.

The Israeli radio quoted Bin Aliazer as saying during a meeting for the foreign committee at the Israeli Knesset that the decision taken by the Likud to reject the establishment of the Palestinian state is the same as saying "no for peace" and also for any attempt to settle the conflict by political means and that will not achieve security for Israel and will not halt the Palestinian Intifada.

One Palestinian was killed on Monday by the Israeli occupation army before an Israeli check-point at the entrance of Bethlehem in the West Bank. An Israeli military spokesman said that the killed Palestinian attacked members of the Israeli check point and he wounded an army officer before he was killed.

Another Palestinian was also killed near one of the Israeli occupation position in the Jordan valley.
