Egypt, Arab states invited to forge statute of international criminal court

The international criminal court conference invited the Arab states, foremost of which was Egypt, to join the basic system of the criminal court so as to a take positive part in forging basic legal systems that would lay down the court system.

Such invitation gives a guarantee to the court to have a just and equal geographical representation in the gathering of the states that signed the court system slated for on September 3.

On his part, Nasser Amen, Secretary-General of Arab Center for Judiciary Independence, which supervised the conference, said that the conferees urged Arab governments to back the court, stressing the role of national judiciary in trying antihuman crimes perpetrators.

The conference called on all European Union states to give more credibility to the statute of the court, branding the stance of U.S. on it as negative and contrary to the principle of international justice.
