Morocco economic delegation on prospecting mission in Libya
Libya-Morocco, Economics, 5/13/2002
A Moroccan business delegation started on Friday a visit to Libya to prospect partnership and cooperation opportunities with Libyan enterprises.
The businessmen will be holding a series of meetings with local officials from the city of Benghazi to learn about possibilities in this region and study preparations for the Moroccan products exhibition to be held next September 1st on the occasion of Libya's national day (Revolution Anniversary).
They will also participate in the first meeting of the Moroccan-Libyan chamber of commerce and industry in Tripoli.
Moroccan-Libyan trade is still short of existing possibilities as Morocco's exports to Libya in 2000 did not exceed US$ 50 million while imports were valued at US$ 70 million, comprising mostly oil products (over US$ 20 million).
The Moroccan delegation comprises 11 economic operators in the fields of airports, environment, food industry, iron, textile and farming machinery.
