UNICEF chief lauds king Mohammed's care for childhood

Director general of the United Nations children fund (UNICEF), Carol Bellamy, lauded the interest and care granted by Morocco's King Mohammed VI to the protection of children rights.
"The Moroccan sovereign and princess Lalla Meryem (chairman of the national children rights observatory) deserve congratulations for the care they grant to children," Bellamy told the Moroccan TV channel (2M).
King Mohammed VI attended on Wednesday at the UN headquarters in New York the opening session of the UN special general assembly on children.
The Moroccan delegation to the conference was chaired by Princess Lalla Meryem and included members of the government as well as non-governmental organizations active in the protection of children rights.
