Syrian - Jordanian talks on strengthening economic relations

Syrian Prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro on Sunday in Damascus received the governor of the Jordanian Central bank Umayya Toukan, the director of the Jordanian housing Bank Zuheir Khouri and the director general of the Jordanian trade and supply bank Abdul Qader Dweik.
Discussions dealt with means of strengthening existing cooperation relations between the two peoples and states in various economic, trade, banking, investment and industrial areas and the exchange of technical expertise in the banking fields for serving common interests and strengthening opportunities of inter- Arab economic integration.
The Syrian prime minister underlined the importance of inter- Arab economic integration, expanding inter- Arab trade and the role played by banks, businessmen and investors in expanding prospects of such cooperation. He noted the facilities and measures provided in Syria to encourage investment and attract investors in all fields, including the banking aspect.
The three Jordanians praised Syria's upsurge at various economic, trade, legislative and financial aspects under the overall development march, led by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
