Bahrain-Iran, Politics, 5/11/2002
The first deputy for the Iranian President Muhammad Rida Aref has stressed that Iran's policy is based on eliminating tension, building confidence and developing cooperation relations with the Arab and Islamic states.
During his meeting on Thursday with Bahrain's ambassador in Tehran Kamel Saleh Abdullah al-Saleh, Aref noted Iran's care to develop cooperation relations with Bahrain in order to serve the interests of the peoples of the region.
He stressed the need of strengthening cooperation among the Islamic states in order to establish peace and stability in the region, return back the legitimate rights for the Palestinians and withstanding the "Israeli aggressive policy." Al-Saleh, for his part, stressed his country's desire to develop relations with Iran.
