Al-Bashir to visit Addis Ababa on May 20

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir will pay an official visit to Ethiopia on May 20. The visit will last for two days.

The Sudanese ambassador to Ethiopia Othman al-Sayyed said in a statement on Thursday that President al-Bashir will take part, following this visit in the meetings of COMESA summit which will be held in the Ethiopian capital on May 23 and 24.

Worthy mentioning that meetings of the Sudanese- Ethiopian joint committee started on Thursday in Khartoum under the chairmanship of the two countries' foreign ministers.

On the other hand, the Sudanese daily al-Anbaa said that 25 Arab nomads and 75 members of the rebel movement were killed in the confrontation took place on the border of al-Wahda province in the downtown of southern Sudan. The paper explained that the Arab nomads were able to deter an attack by the rebels targeted to steal their sheep and cattle and properties and the attack resulted in killing 25 persons from them and 75 from the rebels beside large material losses.
