Tightened security measures in Yemen, an explosion near Bajmal's house

An explosive went off near the house of the Yemeni prime minister Abdul Qader Bajmal without any casualties reported at a time security cooperation continued between the Yemeni and the American authorities.
Yemeni security sources said that the explosion near Bajmal's house resulted from an explosive placed near the wall of the house of the minister of planning and development Ahmad Soufan, which is close to the house of the prime minister in a residential area to the north of the capital Sanaa. The explosion resulted in no casualties in any of the two houses. The police cars hurried to the site of the incident and streets leading to it were closed.
The Yemeni paper "September 26" which is issued by the ministry of defense said that the Yemeni authorities intends to ban weapons and explosives in public markets as well as closing all shops which sell explosives in all parts of Yemen where official statistics estimate number of weapons owned by people of 19 million inhabitants at more than 60 million pieces of weapons.
