Preparations for visit of Saudi foreign minister to Damascus

The Saudi daily al-Watan on Wednesday said that contacts are underway between Damascus and Riyadh at the meantime to arrange for a meeting to be held to Syria by the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud al-Faisal.
The paper added quoting Saudi sources that this visit might be held on next Wednesday or Friday in order to discuss coordination of the two states' stances concerning latest developments on the regional and international arenas and the efforts made to end the Arab- Israeli conflict.
The paper expected the Saudi foreign minister to discuss in his short visit with officials in Syria the question of inter- Arab cooperation in light of the resolutions adopted by the recent Arab summit and also to discuss the idea of the international conference on the Middle East proposed last week following the four- member meeting held by the US, the EU, the UN and Russia concerning the Palestinian- Israeli conflict as well as the Arab- Israeli conflict.
