Islamic-Christian panel condemns Israeli atrocities
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 5/9/2002

Participants at an Islamic-Christian conference in the Port Said Governorate yesterday condemned Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and expressed their support to the policy of President Hosni Mubarak to save Palestinian lives.

The conference, "Citizenship in a Changing World", organised by the Anglican Social Services Society and the Ministry of Waqfs (Religious Endowments), was attended by Governor Moustafa Kamel, prominent figures in Muslim and Christian communities, university students and academics.

They urged all Egyptians to work hard for prosperity and maintain national unity.

Appealing to the international community to intensify peace efforts, the conference called on the UN to send a fact-finding mission to the the occupied Palestinian territories to investigate the massacres committed by the Israeli army in Jenin.
