Al-Tureiki hold contacts on Arab issues
Libya-Regional, Politics, 5/8/2002

The secretary general of the people's committee for Libyan African unity Ali Abdul Salaam al-Tureiki held telephone contacts with the secretary general of the Arab League and with several Arab foreign ministers centered on the developments of conditions in the Arab region and the "war of extermination and siege hatched against the Palestinians by the Israeli occupations forces."

A Libyan official source said on Tuesday that during these telephone calls which were made on Monday evening with the AL chief Amr Moussa, the Tunisian foreign minister al-Habib Bin Yahya, the Moroccan foreign minister Muhammad Bin Issa; and the foreign minister of Qatar Hamad Bin Jasem, stress was laid on the importance of implementing Arab resolutions pertaining to boycotting Israel and the adherence of the Arab states to this boycott.

Stress during these contacts was laid on "the importance of continued Palestinian resistance and taking an Arab position in support of the Palestinian people in confrontation of the racist unprecedented war hatched against them."
