King Abdullah hold talks with Powell on ME

The Jordanian King Abdullah II met in Washington on Monday evening with the US secretary of state Colin Powell and the two reviewed recent developments in the Middle East.

Following the meeting, the Jordanian King expressed desire to see in the few coming days the emergence of a vision bearing hope to the Palestinians.

For his part, Powell indicated that the proposed international conference on the Middle East which was advocated by the US, the European Union, the UN and Russia this summer will be followed by other meetings and will be part of a longer process.

He said that the meeting "which we talked about convening" this summer might not be just one meeting, rather a new step forward.
