Japanese city hosts Moroccan week
Morocco-Japan, Economics, 5/7/2002
The Japanese city of Yokohama hosted from April 25 to May 1 a Moroccan handicraft week that coincided with Japan's Golden Week, an economic and cultural event.
The Moroccan week, that was dedicated by Moroccan minister of social economy, small and medium enterprises and handicraft, Ahmed Lahlimi, enabled the Japanese public to get acquainted with Moroccan handicraft, cuisine, music and costumes and provided opportunity to Moroccan handicraft operators to explore the Japanese market.
Lahlimi and the Moroccan operators held talks with several Japanese officials and businessmen.
In view of the success of the event, Japanese economic operators have projected to pay a visit to Morocco next July to discuss the possibility to hold Moroccan weeks in other cities and to strike deals with Moroccan partners.
