Palestine-Iran, Politics, 5/7/2002
The spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry Hameed Rida Asefi has described what was quoted by news reports on the determination of Israel to assassinate Yasser Arafat, or expelling him or besieging him as a matter rejected by Iran and the Islamic countries.
He said that Tehran thinks that no measure should be taken to weaken Arafat's position at the meantime.
